@numericcitizen This was literally news to me! The WaPo article is paywalled & I can’t read it, but MacRumors have the details, for anyone else wondering.

I’m now super glad I pulled all my stuff off iCloud last month — I’d only upgraded briefly to help with the transition from the old iMac.

@numericcitizen The Mac App Store has been behaving itself here (2024 MacBook Air, Sequoia) but has definitely been wobbly in the past on my old iMac. But I’m very surprised if the iOS App Store is misbehaving too, since that’s arguably the most important one to Apple. What’s going on, I wonder?

@maique While I didn’t get that many in one go when I ventured onto Bluesky recently, I got the impression that most of those ‘followers’ are phishing in hopes you’ll follow them back, and open the door to direct contact. 🙁

@maique We have a few of those at home, though the biggest one was disposed of last year as we never use it anymore. (I’m the lone tea-drinker in the household.)

@pratik Yay for RSS feeds for Mastodon accounts. 👍 Ironically, I only just rejoined to test the Micro. One waters, but had your blog in my RSS reader already.

@Miraz We have wild strawberries growing in our garden — or will be, once winter is over — but none that size. 🤤 Then again, they’ve got more concentrated flavour to them, so a great accompaniment to jams & puddings. 😋

@manton While I have great respect for Dave Winer, that post comes across as more than a little tone-deaf and not-reading-the-room to me.

For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t use the term “mad king” — for one thing, it excuses his behaviour as that someone with diminished or impaired faculties. I think Matt knows EXACTLY what he’s doing, so I’m going with “man-child” because someone needs to put him in the naughty corner for a while…
